Brilliant, worked like a charm.
Although I don't quite understand the logic of
Using X-shift phantom for the short press.
Calling up the key-sets for the 1st (short press) device within this X-shift phantom key.
Calling the phantom key from the 1s device's key in the Macro.

What does the X-shift ...

LKP on 1 button to select 2 different device modes?

My first try at extender on an URC 8011 and a 6012. Have 8 devices to control.

Using LKP on M1 to turn all ON (phantom 1) and all OFF (phantom 2)
This LKP worked on both 8011 and 6012.

The 6012 is short of 2 Device buttons: CD and AUX.
Trying to use LKP on the DVD button to set mode to DVD with ...

How to use evoke special protocol e.g. Toadtog in a macro

I have read many post discussing use of special protocols such as Toadtog but cannot find any examples of how it is used. Particularly in a macro.

My efforts on macros have been limited to putting multiple key presses from different devices onto one key. Each device upgrade has its own protocol to ...

It worked after modifying (repairing) the rdf.

So to summarise:
Error message "Bad checksum at address $000. Expected ....., but found ........" cannot be ignored.

To resolve it the rdf has to be modified.
1. Save a copy of 6_806_80(URC-881x_801x_601x 1k). rdf as backup.
2. Edit the rdf with a ...

URC6011, hardware or software problem?

Having problem with a URC6011 upgraded at OFA. So I take it is the 1K version. In fact if I try with anything but the 1k RDF IR complains and will not work with the wrong RDF. This is a log of what I did and what happened.

When first connected with JP1 cable and after opening IR, download from ...

Johnsfine, you may be right but how do I know if my image is a 2K instead of 1K? I am new at this.

This is what I had tried:
Reset by 981. Download the URC6011 and gets a error message "Bad checksum at address 0000. Expected $00 $FF but found $FF $00".
Click OK and IR says it is a 88xx/60xx 1K ...

More help needed !!

First, for your question Rob, the A, B, C buttons has no corresponding ones that I can find on the original Mellinnium 4. Even after mapping it to the URC8811 it seems to do nothing. So I am at a lost. There were other buttons mapped, according to the decode, but the ...

OK Robman, I will call it Motorola_Streamaster5000.txt. Put in Files/Device Codes/Cable area here .

In fact there was very little re-labelling I need to make. All but one of the buttons are right on the first pass. I re-labelled BYPASS function into TV/TID. It will upload to the correct buttons on ...

Thanks Robman. You had worked the magic. The KM file worked.
When I clean up the function re-label I will name it as CBL/1866.txt and put it in the file area.

Thanks johnsfine.

It worked  . Just loaded and tested the audio/0386 code onto the Millenium 4. Next is to experiment with adding more function. At least the remote is talking to the AV receiver.

Next is to sort out the CBl/0866.

A new world is opening.
