What can be done fairly easily is the following: After importing a Girr file (either through the panel, drag-n-drop, or as command line argument), the meta data of the last import will be used as default for subsequent exports. Differently put, after importing a Girr file, the next export will have ...

In my very basic use case, I'd be glad to get a display of the meta data just as a recall of the imported remote codes. There is some room at the right part of the Import tab to copy these data.
However this is not vital.
Thanks

IrScrutinizer: Save meta data

Hello,
Using IrScrutinizer, when I want to export remote codes from Scrutinize remote tab in Girr format, I get a pop-up window where I can enter meta data: Name, Display Name, Manufacturer, ...
These meta data are recorded in the xml file:
<remote comment="Export from IrScrutinizer" deviceClass ...

MrNice, would I be correct in saying that your main goal is to program your IR blaster to transmit certain IR signals for your Sony remote to capture? So, if we were to give you that ability, the format of the files used in the process would be irrelevant, right?
You are right but my second goal ...

Having said that, In order to improve IrScrutinizer, I still would like to know what signals generated the above silly Lirc export.
The input file

Finally, why do you need Lirc export? Long story short: Lirc is a hugely overrated, and not at all a well designed program/system.
In fact this is the point. I understand the very basic in IR and I don't know the protocols. My need is to customise my Sony URC with codes from the OEM RC, embedded ...

Irscutinizer: export LIRC format error

Hello there
I run a Raspberry pi1B, Raspbian 10 Buster and Irscrutinizer 2.1.0.
Working to import file, receive and send blast, thanks to Barf who helped me for that.

4 years ago I used the same prog to capture remote code and record them. Now I can import in the prog and modify, etc. Moreover I ...

What is the exact version of your Rapsian, and the kernel (uname -a)?
I use Raspberry RPi1B with Raspbian 10 Buster kernel 4.19.75+ #1270

First, it is more than weird to have send-only support, please check again
I try again; Irscrutinizer tab "Sending hw" device "/dev/lirc0" Detected device ...

Thank you Barf and The Robman for your answer.

I had a lot of reading and I get lost. I understand the kernel change lead to change the lirc driver and the developers changed the name. So now if I want to use again lirc_rpi and not gpio driver, I need to use an old Raspbian version and I can't only ...

I am new in this forum but have read a lot unfortunately without answer.
I want to be able to receive and send IR to set my universal remote control with new codes. I did that few years ago with the same hardware and software. However software versions are upgraded like kernel and ...
