Well, the 981 code gives 4 blinks with a very slight delay between the 2 middle ones. I'm pretty sure the solder joints are good (and the chip is in the correct orientation according to the datasheet). I had read about bad solder joints, and I've done a fair bit of soldering in the past, so I'm ...

I've read and reread the installation instructions but I can't get the extender to run on the remote. Some background:

URC-6131 bought unmodded.
I added the JP1 connector and 2k EEPROM (bought from filebug.com).

I bought this remote planning on programming it and giving it to my father who is currently overwhelmed by remotes and will be more overwhelmed when I give him a Tivo. I'm hoping to have things working by next weekend.

Help! Anyone have a spare EEPROM for my URC6131?

I just bought a 6131 and I hadn't done my homework first. I had no problem soldering on the header, but then I found out I need the EEPROM too.

Does anyone have a spare 2K EEPROM hanging around they'd like to sell me? I only need one and I can't see spending $7 shipping on a $.50 part. I'll happily ...
