False alarm. It turns out my cable went bad. It's a really old one with Tommy's name on the PCB. The actual cable conductors broke somewhere in the cable and were intermittently working. When I tried to strip them to put a new 2x3 connector on, they kept breaking as if the conductor had no strength ...

I got it working on Centos 7.6, so I now know the cable works. It would be nice to get it working on Windows again.

No remotes found - ftdi win10

Hi, I haven't been able to reliably download on my main Win10 system for many years. Last time I found that one of my old Win10 laptops would work, but now I can't get it working. Does anybody have suggestions? My remote is a JP1.3 - AOC 67100. When I download, I get two quick blinks of the remote ...

I posted my rdf/image/map for this remote here: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13517

It would be nice to get this in RMIR. The only thing I couldn't get to work was DKP. I've never used them before, so it could be user error. More often than not it would execute ...

To summarize this for others (since I just wasted a bunch of time on this), to get pause to work on this extender, the macro must set dev_TV (for example) before calling the pause function that is mapped to a TV button. I was assuming that since I was calling the pause function from a DSM or macro ...

I created a new RDF/MAP/JPG for this remote.
1. How do I submit it for review?
2. Is there a way to verify that it is in fact identical (except for button names) to the Insignia version? In the 30333033 example, I see there are a few other subtle differences than just button names.

Cool. I didn't realize you could have two RDFs with the same ID.

Insignia 67100 knockoffs with different keys

Hi, I bought an Insignia 67100 knock off and realized the button names aren't the same as the original remote which makes it confusing to program. What do people do in this circumstance? I assume I could modify the 3X473X47 (Insignia Remote 67100 Extender V3.03).rdf file to make it match my remote ...

RCRPS06GR

Hi,

I'm surprised I don't see any references to this remote on the site. Is this supported? JP1.3? Is it any good? I've been limping along with my really old URC-6131's that I love, so I haven't kept up with the latest JP1 stuff.

Thanks,
Mike

Quick way to search a bunch of codes?

When I am searching for discrete codes I usually program 10 or 20 sequential codes into the numeric keypad of a remote, try them, and repeat. Is there a quicker way to do this? I have an IR Widget if that thing is capable of transmitting.

Thanks,
Mike

Discrete codes for TCL LE55HDF3300Z 55" LED TV?

Hi,

This TV uses RCA38 device 15. I tried all 256 device codes and found no discretes. I see that some other TCL TV or combo devices use different device codes for discretes. Since I couldn't get the RCA38 Combo protocol to work on my old URC-1631 it's very time consuming to try out different ...

Repaired all of my "worn out" URC-6131 remotes

I use two of these, and the 4th of 5 total started going bad last month. I decided to take one apart to repair the buttons that weren't working. I immediately noticed the bad buttons were covered in brown sticky stuff. It turns out that the solder flux was not cleaned well enough when it was built ...

Fortunately, it's 0162, not 016C. I was using protocol "pid: 01 62" instead of DirecTV. Switching the protocol to DirecTV I no longer need a custom protocol and save a ton of space, but it behaves the same.

The double tap on the 6131 looks like a button hold, not a tap.
I'm double tapping pretty quickly.

Does the unextended remote act the same way on the double tap?

I tried it without activating the extender, and it responds the same way. Is that a good enough test?

have you tried the ...

I'd be interested in trying this out if anybody has time to create a custom protocol. Let me know!
