Thanks, the KEYMAP setting is OK.

I found my problem. Because of a minor Java problem, I was running RM on my Vista laptop and cut/pasting into IR on an XP PC (over VNC) where my JP1 interface lives. All upgrades I built failed, and not having done one before, I was not sure why.

Sorry for the rambling question. Your answer is on the money.

Not having built an upgrade before, I was not clear on the relationship between using extended and none-extended upgrades.
What I wanted was a basic road-map to build my own upgrade and install it into my existing Atlas extender. I can ...

They are in sealed blister packs. The one I've opened has a label in the battery compartment "RC810-A 1221" 1221 I think is the date code. My old remote is labeled "RC810-A 5114"

RCU810 clearance in Canada

Anyone in Canada looking for an RCU810, they are available at XS Cargo clearance stores for C$19.99. http://www.xscargo.com

I just bought 2 and they look just like the one I have working with JP1. Have not added the JP1 mod yet. They may be the older "A" model which has the clock reset problem. :D
