JP1 Remotes

It's been many years since I was proficient with programming, special protocols and JP1 extenders and I am now very much out of practice.

I have several OFA URC-8800 remotes that I still use and can generally program, however, with a new Onkyo home theater addition, I can't get this protocol ...

However, now RM can recognize the URC 8800, but when I loaded a RM protocol for a JVC TV, the following error shows up:

Selected protocol "JVC combo" (00 98 ) is not compatible... upgrade will not function properly.

Any ideas???

New to RemoteMaster (old IR user) and when opening remote master for any version of the URC 8800 or 9800, it gives the following error:

Remote load error
java.lang.NullPointerException
at.com.hifiremote.jp1...
(...then a few dozen other errors)

It will open other device remotes but not the 8800 or ...

Not to sound too incompetent but...

Does protocol refer to (something like) NEC1?

Also, what does device code refer to since I am setting up a new device?

I am attempting to program my URC 8800 and Ratshack 15-2117 remotes to operate several Somfy/Harmonic Design System II motorized roller shades to open and close.

The shades operate via IR and came with a proprietary IR remote, however, when using their remote, it simultaneously sends a flashing red ...

One last item...

It appears that with the extender, the P8 now synchs its clock with my PC when I upload. Is this another feature of the extender?
