Thanks for all of your support and help. I now have the extender working with several macros and key moves, I have LCD names. alot of memory left. I have also gained knowledge. Thanks again.

My next adventure is toadtogs

note: my toshiba tv has no discrete codes for on or off.

Can I use toadtogs with no discrete codes?

Thanks for the help,
Doug

Doug,
Um, that is (one of) the reason toadtogs exists. You can use the toggles to create virtual discretes (and you can use discretes to create virtual toggles). The only problem is some jackass will come along and turn the device on by going over to it and pressing the power button and then you are out of sync. the can also happen if you arent pointing the remote at the device one day and the remote thinks it toggled the device when in fact it did not. so leave yourself a way to toggle the device on/off without the toadtog, unless you dont mind getting up and pressing the power. But this defeats the purpose of having a remote in the first place.
At the rate you are going, you will be writing extenders soon! Congrats.

I've found it very effective to train the other people in the house by
placing a sticky on the power button of the TV unit saying "broken,
do not use"
