I have been trying to merge the learned signals I got from my Magnavox digital converter box into the file I downloaded before I started doing the learning.
Right now I have 3 of my devices in one IR file, and the learned signals in another IR file.
IR says the learned signals are emerson device #42, but KM. doesn't seem to support that one. It claims its a nec 1 file, but that doesn't work when I try it.
I've been trying to get RM to work but I'm having dll problems of some kind, and it won't install, it wouldn't let me install visual basic express either so I don't know what is up with that yet.
I looked at extinstall.exe, but I'm not using an extender, and I really don't want to unless it is the only way to get all my stuff going, and it won't work without the extender.hex file.
So I looked at the new IR ver8.3, I see the export pronto, but I don't see any import or merge option to use it after its exported.
Somehow I have to be able to get the stuff out of the learned part of the remote, because its already down to 65 free from 1023, and I have several remotes still to learn, that I haven't found IR files or KM files for.
Thanks for any help or advice.

I think you might benefit from reading IRHelp
Learned signal are huge. What we do with the learns is convert them to an upgrade so that we don't need the learned signals. If you are having trouble with KM, post the IR files with the learns, and someone here can show you how to get started.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I'll read it tonight!vickyg2003 wrote:I think you might benefit from reading IRHelp
It isn't what you want to use for your present problem, but since you raised the question of importing Pronto, I'll answer it. There isn't a separate "Import Pronto" button since it is an option under the "Add" button. If you press "Add", you will see that there are radio buttons for the data format, either "UEI Learned" or "Pronto".pcrider wrote:So I looked at the new IR ver8.3, I see the export pronto, but I don't see any import or merge option to use it after its exported.
The "UEI Learned" format under "Add" enables you to copy learned signals from one remote or .ir file to another. Use the "Edit" button to see the hex for the signal you want to copy, highlight it and use Ctrl/C to copy it to the clipboard then Ctrl/V to paste it to the "Add" window of the other remote or file.
Note that Pronto import and export options are both for individual signals. You can't import or export a CCF file.
