Well I wiped the last protocol and then added the protocol from your post above. Unfortunately no change for me
Glad to hear that Teks is OK. It really does sound like there is something different between our setups.
I am going to pursue the CaptureIR/DigiTrace route but that will take awhile.
Thanks for all your work on this device.

I did not mess with the protocol yet, it is darn close to the keyboard as is. Might be a touch slower when it gets up to speed and starts scrolling, not that this is a bad thing, the keyboard is way fast anyhow. I'll continue to evaluate.
Still smiling

See if this version improved the BREAK performance. If it's better but not totally fixed, try increasing the number in red.

Still no luck for me. I checked very carefully that I have uploaded this protocol above.

Just ordered the parts for the IR detector from mouser. I will do some analysis of what my keyboard is doing once I get everything together and working. I will post back when I have an update.
Seems like it should be straightforward to compare (using DigiTrace and/or CaptureIR) what a key does on the keyboard versus what that same key does from the remote.

Could you live without the keyboard for a week or so? I'd like to borrow it to capture the signals that it's sending.

Wow Rob - that is an offer that is too good to pass up. PM me with your shipping address and I will send the keyboard along with the IR receiver that it uses. I am waiting on the parts I ordered and so this is a good time to do this.

Played with the protocol a bit.. increasing and decreasing the delay by adjusting the red byte.. it works great! The default 06 is a fairly close match to the keyboards delay.
I slowed it down a tad and now have it set at 08.
Thanks for the effort guys.

Assuming that the two of you have different versions of this keyboard/receiver, could you both see if there's a version number or some other identifier that I can use to label the two seperate upgrades that I'm going to end up creating.

My ACK-571 keyboard label reads: US S/N 506218690(P+P)
The receiver has a small sliding door on the back. I could not see any pinholes or adjust-ables. I could however see printed on the circuit board:
??ck-581 RXM
(8052)
?? Ack I assume.

Details of my equipment:
keyboard: US S/N: 506218689(P+P)
receiver:
on the PCB: ACK-581 RXM (8052)
label on the microcontroller: ACK-581 RXM 38K/56K
If you can believe the serial #'s from out keyboards that they were possibly made by the same guy on the same day!
Had a hectic day at work today - did not get the keyboard in the mail. Hope to get it out tomorrow. I really want to get it in your hands Rob so we can get to the bottom of this.

How do you open rar files, I tried opening them with Winzip 9.0 and it couldn't open them.
