15-100 extender?

Does anybody know if an extender is being worked on for the RS 15-100. I’ve been using the faithful 15-1994 for about six years now and it is starting to wear out. I picked up a few of the 15-100’s at Radio Shack while they were on sale for $20.00. I realized that I would have to add a connector, but I forgot to check into the availability of an extender. This remote, with an extender, would have more power than most remotes costing $200.00 or more.

Sorry to say there isn't an extender in the works for this remote. The thinking was that so few people would use it due to the difficulty of adding the connector that it wasn't worth the effort. That's not to say it won't ever happen, but it's unlikely.

It wouldn't be "hard", the 15-13x extender code would be relatively easy to port to that remote. But I agree with Dave that spending my time on other things is probably more fruitful.
Making the 15-100 to be JP1 compatible is, from what I understand, is quite an undertaking.
I will, however look at it if someone sends me a pre-modified 15-100 to use during debug.
or maybe Jeff, this is your opportunity to start writing extenders!

I have a preliminary build of a 15-100 extender for testing if anyone is interested. I don't have one of these yet, but mdavej has installed and tested it and it appears to work.
PM me if you are interested

This is fantastic news. I really want to exress my appreciation to Unclemiltie and Dave for doing this. I've been limping my 15-1994's along for quite a while now because I couldn't find an 8 device (or more) remote that had the same feel and functionality. The 15-100 fits the bill perfectly.
I will have pictures of my JP1 modification available soon.
Thank you again.

I'm thinking of getting one and a can of rubberized spray paint and painting it black. I really did like the rubberized 1994 (and 2116) and wish they would do one of those again. I do like the look of the 15-100 and am anxious to actually put my hands on one!
