4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Atlas/UEI DVR-1056 (says 1056B01 on the back)
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? no
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section? yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
9. Partially working setup code? no
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? yes

Give Audio/1295 a try and see if this controls power and volume.

Thanks, that did work. As a side note, I didn't realise that it might matter whether I used the Audio or DVD buttons; prior to this I'd been trying codes with DVD only...

it would be nice to control more functions than just power & volume, but this is better than nothing. Thanks again!

There are 4 major groupings of device types, TV, CABLE/SAT/STBS, AUDIO and VIDEO setup type codes. The

Well yeah, it looks as if this setup code should control Play, Pause, Stop too,

There are three setup codes in this remote that might do the trick
Audio 1295
Audio 1495
Audio 1500

They all share the same volume and Transport keys,
see which one offers the best fits your needs and then we can fill in the EFCs from the Samsung HT-P38 upgrade to get you up and running.
