I have found that while EFC016 works as a discrete on on my panny 9442 vcr it rests all my programming.
ANyone else notice this or know a work around?
thanx

What sort of programming? Are you talking about the programmed channels or timed recordings? As I haven't actually programmed a timed recording into my VCR in many years, it's quite possible that it reset my unit without me noticing.

yeah timed recordings
its very frustrating trying to find a solution as without this issue i had my theater completely set up without extenders or toadtogs

WOW! I thought I was the only one with this weird behavior.
I can't vouch for the timer-based recordings, BUT I have noticed that all of my preprogrammed channels go away when I use the 016 discrete.
I haven't considered it a problem nor sought a work-around since I NEVER record OTA on the VCR. If there's a show I want I DVR it on my Dish and ultimately transfer it to VHS manually for archiving.
Similarly, the reset of the programmed channels has been at worst an extrememly minor inconvenience since, again, I almost never use the VCR tuner (Dish DVR is primary - if it's tied up recording something I can't switch from then I use my Samsung HDTV OTA box. VCR tuner would be a last resort)
So for the sole purpose of watching videotaped content or recording same from a line input, the reset doesn't matter much to me, although I can see it being a real pain in the ass.

What's with the censorship?

I can understand automatically filtering cuss words, but ass?

as in "jawbone of an ass"?
Can I say "pain in the tuchus?"
"Jawbone of a donkey" just doesn' have the same ring to it.

It's not censorship per se... just an attempt to keep things clean. It was really intended for other variations of that word, which aren't quite as harmless.

You can always go with ToadTog.
