Web Site Changes

Post by The Robman »

With MUCH thanks to Lucy from http://nwn.lucindrea.com this forum is now updated to version 2.0.10 of phpbb (we were on 2.0.4). We've also got a new spell checker installed and a much more elaborate "quick reply" (I did that one myself! :) )

But the really exciting news is that we will soon have a file section over here (away from yahoo), I just need some time to finish the admin setup. In the meantime you can check it out by clicking on the "Download" link under the ad banner above (which I hope to rename "File Section" at some point).

One of my intentions is to revamp the Upload page to make it more JP1 specific, but we'll see.

There's nothing wrong with "cheap"! :D

However, the alt text displayed when you hover over the icon currently reads "You have no new massages"... :?

When I log in it told me there were say 21 new posts since last visit.

However when I select to view them it only showed 8. ???

That likely means 21 new posts in 8 threads (the default view is by thread).

Here's the offending HTML code causing this:

<a href="dload.php?sid=d302cda1f4f9a63a869097955e1e11eb" class="mainmenu"><img src="templates/subSilver/images/icon_mini_download.gif" width="17" height="16" border="0" alt="You have no new messages" title="You have no new messages" hspace="3" align="top" />File Section</a>

The "alt" and "title" parameters should be changed to "File Section".

Rob,

I just send you a PM. There is a hack that was turned into an internet worm for versions under 2.0.11. You might want to think about upgrading. Check the front page for phpbb for more info.

Thanks for the heads-up Justin, I upgraded the forum to 2.0.11 last night.

I apologize for the outage that occurred around 8pm Central, this was while I was performing the updates.
