JP1 Remotes

Hi folks,

I have a need to produce a few Pronto Hex codes for the above protocol. Specifically I need the number codes (0-9) to drive a Pace DC420NF STB from inside Media Portal using an IR driver written by Bruno Fleurette.

I DO have a working RM upgrade which is working fine on my shiny new 9910, so I am sure that this, specifically, is the protocol I need.

Is there any chance that someone could either produce the codes for me, or perhaps produce a working IRP file for makehex for the RC6-M-20n protocol. I would do it myself but I really am out of my depth when working with protocols, and I have never used makehex in the past either.

The irp file is included in Makehex.zip

It is RC6-M-L.irp

It covers a range of different protocols in the RC6 family, the most common of which is the RC6-6-20 protocol I assume you want.

You select RC6-6-20 by setting M=6 inside the .irp file and setting L=20. I think those are the defaults as the file is shipped.

The protocol I assume you used in RM covers a norrower subset of the RC6 family. The M value is a choice in that protocol executor, but the L value of 20 is hard wired.

I would give you the Pronto Hex you want, but I don't know the device and subdevice values you need. Those go in the .irp file before and after the . on the line saying Device=

Thats the thing that confused me. When I look in RM at the upgrade with the correct protocol selected (RC6-M-20n, protocol ID 00:20), there are no Protocol Parameters filled in. So no device, and no sub device. I did have a lot of trouble getting an upgrade for this particular device at the time, and if I recal correctly the only protocol that worked properly for me was the one I have specified here......

Am I missing something here?

I did a quick check of some downloaded files and reminded myself that RC6-6-20 with device 0.0 is the "SKY" code set and with device 0.12 it is the "SKY+" code set.

Those code sets are not specific to a brand, such as Pace. They are consistent across all the brands following that SKY standard.

In RM, if you leave device and subdevice blank it will use the default from protocols.ini, which I assume is 0.0. That is also the default in RC6-M-L.irp

Thankyou VERY VERY much. You have saved me hours of further frustration. The Pronto codes work perfectly, though the blaster is extremely sensitive as to its location. I must have a different version of makehex to you though, cause when I run the same functions with 0.0 I get different pronto hex.

I am sahilmakkar very new to JP1.
M configuring SKY remote for our settop box, m getting only data( no toggle bit, no deviceid)
So m trying to get it using ir.exe(JP1)
trying to get codes by using a universal remote(one for all),
M trying to learn codes for RC6-6-20 remote(SKY), but m not getting all the codes(no device id and other data, only information am getting),
What steps should I follow to get the codes,

There are plenty of Sky upgrades already made in the file section (link at top of the page). Have you tried any of those? Then you need not worry about learning and decoding.

There's 13 of them on this page (5 for Sky, 7 for Sky+ and 1 for Sky HD (Italy))

When selecting which one you want, don't worry whether the model of remote is correct; That is easy to change. Even SKY vs. SKY+ is fairly easy to change, though you might as well select one that has that right.

If you're using KM, don't select a file for RM. If you're using RM, both KM files and RM files will work.

Is SKY-keymaster for URC-9910 is also available somewhere
