Extended Atlas with backlit keys

How do you turn the backlit off when your Atlas is using the extender? I'm new to this and for now I'm using it for the faster macro speed.
EDIT: Never mind, I found a way. First I assigned a key with that deactivation keymove and upon disconnecting the JP1.2/3 cable, deactivated the extender and pressed the setup key twice to turn the backlit feature off and then proceeded to reactivate the extender using TV/OK and now the backlight is off.
