Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

If this is the listing that you mean, the cheapest open box that I see if $17.99 plus $5.49 shipping ($23.47 total), and that's for one that they only list as being in "fair" condition.

Looking on eBay, I see the following:

I should have suggested searching on "Insignia 8-Device" not the model since they show that.

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

I copied the "preamble" in the RMIR file from the default NS-RMT8D21 which is this:

Good info, Dave.

There is currently an "open box' NS-RMT8D21 available in US with free delivery for $15.29 and indication that 2 are available. There are several others with modest shipping cost.

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

I bet the Walmart remote could be modified to work with JP1, if someone were so included to try. Do I think it's worth the effort? No.

That occurred to me. If I were desperate, I might try, With the incoming eBay purchase, I will have six 3660's and one 3680 with 4 different RMIR files (plus one ...

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

I gave away one of my 3660 ONN equivalents to my church but I could replace it with this if it is JP1. I wouldn't need the Activity keys for that.

I just solved my desire to have a spare again by snagging an authentic ONN 3660 on eBay. The listing included a pic of the battery compartment ...

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

I would like to hear more about it, if you get one.
Sadly, no, the ONN remote that I linked to is not JP1. Luckily, I was able to slide one out of its box and check the battery compartment without spending the $15. I suppose that it is possible that it shares some other user programmable features ...

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680

I'm curious if anybody has tried this ONN remote from Walmart.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-6IN1-UNI-REMOTE/13679466149

Layout is very similar to a URC-3660 although a few keys are located differently. But the three Activity keys appear to be missing (unless they are APP1, APP2 & APP3). It is in ...

I'd like to add my thanks to Rob and all those that have contributed over the years. I came here today to possibly send a link and recommendations to a friend that could benefit. So it is a disappointment to see this wonderful resource disappear.

Fortunately, I have collected enough 3660's (6) and ...

You are correct that most Roku TVs make use of their own brand code. There are a lot of after market replacement Roku remotes and they always specify that they are for a specific brand TV and are not for use on Roku branded STBs.

I am only using Roku STBs and they all appear to respond to the same ...

Thanks, Rob. The setup code I'm using is 3061. My RMDU is a slightly modified version of Roku (official).rmdu. I believe the only modification was to add a function code for ESPN.

It is too bad that some of our experts have dropped off. I am certainly not an expert, but my more recent inactivity is ...

Repeated button press speed

This question is based on programming of an ONN equivalent of the 3660. I am using these with multiple TV/Roku combinations. Something that has been frustrating with the Roku is with repeated FF or Rwd button presses.

Last night I picked up my Roku remote and found that it responds much faster than ...

Post your RMIR file.
Don't spend any time on this quite yet.
Problem solved. It was because of a slightly convoluted configuration for the TV power and volume and the fact that the Activity was imposing a VPT different from the VPT settings on the General tab.

I had selected an RMDU for the TV ...

Post your RMIR file.
Don't spend any time on this quite yet. I remembered in the middle of the night that I had performed a hack a couple years ago that had allowed me to run macros on Activity keys.

I have a fresh remote coming today that I will recreate my setup without any hacks but using the ...

I like this solution for this remote because it allows you to use the Activity buttons for setup features (turn TV, set input, etc) and then put a MultiMacro on the Power button to turn everything off.
After a bit of memory digging and online searching, I found the above in this thread. I then ...
