OK, thanks for the info. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. If I use an extender, I will have to convert several learned signals into advanced codes. Not a big deal, but I think some of them were funky (like my DVR button on my DishTV). Anyway, thanks for your help. If I find the time to tackle this ...

As I read the owner's manual to a similar Tosh TV (see pg 56-57), you have to first assign each input to a numerical position on the list from 1-7, and then select that input as Rob stated, by pressing "input" followed by the number corresponding to that input.

Now I don't have one of these, so I ...

Here is the original ToadTog...

I believe this can be setup for any un-extended remote.

Thanks for the reply. So, would you suggest I tackle the extender or go unextended ToadTog? Remember, I'm trying to avoid a steep learning ...

I tried that. Any other suggestions? Does anyone here have a newer Toshiba TV with this functionality? Perhaps someone could even post an IR file or list the appropriate advanced codes. Thanks.

ToadTog - tutorial?

Does anybody have a quick and dirty tutorial on ToadTog? I need to simulate discrete on/off for a toshiba tv. What is the easiest (i.e., mildest learnest curve) to get this done? I've successfully mastered KM and RM upgrades, but have yet to venture into extenders and/or ToadTog. A simple example ...

Toshiba TV and "Direct Video Input Selection"

Hello all,

I just bought a Toshiba 37HLC56 LCD TV. I'm finding that discretes are hard to come by for Toshibas, and my TV does not respond to 006/010 for discrete on/off. However, I might have access to discretes for inputs. The sales sheet for my TV indicates the following for my TV:

"Direct ...

interesting. yes, i have a learning remote (URC-8910), but my cheap-ass Polaroid portable DVD player didn't come with an original remote.

anyway, my other option is to just use this file with learned commands:

i tried it, and ...

I'm trying to use the following upgrade:
