I just collected a Bounty,on a 20 year old remote

Out of the blue I received an email from someone working at a electronics firm, wanted know if I had Memorex CP8 Turbo, which I did. If it had date code 1991 or before, it was worth $500 to them, mine was dated DEC 1990.

I didn't ask why, they were willing to send a Turbo with 1992 date back for my collection. The original memorex CP8 and Radio Shack 1901/1901A had the same features, and all were made before 1991? all I know is firm had nothing to do with these models, I can't think of remote at the time made by them. i'm keeping the name a secret.

I am thinking it has to be something to do with a patent.

Either that, or some guy more nuts over remotes than the people here, and that isn't too likely
