JP1 to USB FTDI Serial Converter Cable Pin Out ?

Post by EdT »

Is there a illustration for the pin out from the USB cable to the 6 pin Dupont block connecter ?, can't seem to find it in these forums.

So it says not to connect the CTS or VCC wires, so this means I can get the 4 wire version instead ? they are much more cheaper than the 6 wire version.

"Anyway, don't attach either CTS or VCC. CTS can confuse the communication with the remote, and VCC (if it is +5 volts) can possibly damage the remote."

The interface only needs a ground, RTS, RX and TX lines. If you get one with a 3.3 volt VCC, then you may be able to use relatively worn out batteries while uploading to the remote.
