15-1994 Light Button

Post by kharalds »

As a newbie to JP1 I have created my own cable and have been messing around with uploading to my remote. I have successfully done so however I have noticed that my light button on the remote does not work. I wish I could attribute this entirely to the upload but I don't remember the last time that I used the light.

If you have any ideas please respond. Thanks.

The light button is a toggle. Pressing it turns on the backlight feature if it was off, and off if it was on. When on, pressing any button should turn the light on for approx 5 seconds. Normal JP1 usage shouldn't have any effect on it.

If the light isn't working at all, it's possible that the transformer that powers it has been damaged (i.e. by dropping the remote). The 1994 is known to have a fairly fragile design in this area.
