Unbranded/Generic 8902-ATSC / PVR assistance needed

Unbranded/Generic. The best model number I can get is 8902-ATSC or maybe HD-ATSC Receiver 8902. Bought on eBay Works great but none of the PVR codes I've tried work.

Problem with creating my own bin

I have a Harmony 620 and a OneForAll URC 6692BJO remote control with learning capability. The Harmony has a USB cable and I bought a JP1.2 1.3 USB Cable for the OneForAll. I can't get the latest version of RM/RMIR to detect either remote on a Windows 10 computer.

OK, all done. I actually know the 'internals' of this box, it is used by a number of badged manufacturers. so 'generic' is a good description.

However:

1. Your right and left arrows are reversed to everyone else.
2. You didn't learn the Pause, so I assume it is a single Play/Pause button ?
3. CC and Goto return the same code.
4. Not enough Custom buttons for all the Inputs so only mapped Input Next.
5. The White button, the Enter button, the Skip+\- buttons, the Page+/- buttons and one Custom button are available if you want to map any of the Input commands to them,

Turns out that I never imagined that you could turn this around so fast. But no, I haven't given up. I had good luck with your iView 3500 a couple of years ago. It died late this summer and this is the replacement.

I also made the mistake of relying on email to notify me of a response. Only now do I see the checkbox for notifying me when a reply is posted.

I was able to upload the V2010_PL.bin file to my Slingbox 350 and change channels this evening. I've not been able to test more as I keep getting "Your Slingbox has been disconnected because of a poor Internet connection." I'll test it out in the next couple of nights. But being able to change channels is a great start.

alanrichey, you really know your remotes.

1. My right and left arrows must be the same as everyone else's. They are opposite of what they should be in the draft you posted.
2. The remote does use a single Play/Pause button.
3. I don't use CC and Goto very often but to test them, I'll need to know what they are mapped to. I'm seeing custom buttons 01, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, and 27. Is that what's programmed.

What software are you using to do the mapping? When trying to get my JP1 cable working, I downloaded IR804 but that's all I've started with and the cable manufacturer suspects I have a bad cable.

Everything works fine except it might be nice to correct the left and right arrows for others.

and no need to correct anything. What I meant was that i have about 6 other custom remotes that use that set of codes but that they all use the opposite codes for left/right. It was just an observation, I wanted to make sure you hadn't actually transposed them. But if you are happy..... :D

What do I call the box when I upload it ? Can't very well call it 'Generic PVR' ?

Between my last two posts, I meant to say that the left and right arrows in this BIN are swapped. When I push left the menu selection goes right and when I push right, it goes left. They are transposed as you suspected.

The best I can do for a name (and what I was searching for in the file section) would be something like Generic ATSC 8902 PVR. My first post has the Ebay listing.

I'd really like to share your work with others. What are the name requirements?
Would "Generic ATSC 8902 PVR" work for the listing and ATSC8902PVR.zip work for the file?
