8910 Backlight issue

After a while of not connecting the remote to the computer, I connected it to program in a New device. Now the backlight comes on and stays on whether or not I've activated it. It is not as bright as usual, but it is on enough that it is eating up the batteries. When I do activate the light it comes on to its normal brightness and then, after the usual delay, it only dims. Any ideas why this might be happening and how to fix it? I've done an OPS and MFR reset and neither worked.

Hey, I was wondering if you ever found an answer to your problem. Mine is doing the same thing after an upgrade.
