external code triggering?

Post by miscrms »

Does anyone know if there is any provision in the JP1 interface for triggering the transmission of an IR code? I noticed that the JP1 connector seems to be connected to both the prom and the controller, so it seemed within the realm of possibility.

Thanks,

Rob

This has been discussed many times and the answer is no, it's just not possible via the 6-pin JP1 connector. Having said that, I'm sure some "enterprising" EE could invent a mod which would let you control a remote like this.

However, if you find an older model OFA or RS that has the 3-hole connector, it is possible with these remotes.

Just one code (key), or the whole shebang? At one time, I devized a grand plan of using two 4051s (1 to 8 CMOS switch), to close an x matrix line to a y matrix line, from an 8 bit port on a microcontroller.
