Upgrade from learning when no device or EFC code present
Hi,
I learned the keys from a remote for an APEX GT-2015 TV, and downloaded to IR (the current file does not work for my TV). When I look at the keys in learned section of IR, there is not device #, or EFC etc, and just a bunch of #s under the "sent once when key is pressed:--there are several 3 and 4 digit numbers. Since I am trying to put this into a non-learning remote, would anyone have an idea on how to translate this into KM to assign the keys and code? Thanks for any input. (I am using an 8910 to learn, and then want to put into a 6131).

Hey, thanks jon.
Here it is. Let me know if you would like additional info. I do not have all the codes here b/c of limit on memory for the 8910. This is the IR file.

sabre, the learning instructions aren't very clear from the manual. You need to start the learning process in the 8910, when its led flashes rapidly, THEN press and hold the key on the OEM remote.
What I saw looked like the NEC1 protocol, but you are pressing the OEM key first and I am only seeing the last part of the signal.

ok, the code does seem to work, but it appears the real issue has to do w/ my 6131, which I put in the eeprom and jp1-no issues and all checks cleared.
Here it is: it seems after I hit the TV button and then say power, which would work, after i hit the next button, the remote lights once, and then 2 quick flashes, like it is doing something on its own. To get one key to work again, i need to hit the TV button and then can use one key, but then it will go off again. It almost seems like it is in set up mode after hitting the 2nd button. I know this is totally different than 1st issue, so maybe i should start new thread?

That's still not exactly right. Here's what you're supposed to do...sabre wrote:jon, you are a genius or i am a fool. I was pressing both buttons at the same time while learning, while only supposed to hit the OEM. Thanks a bunch. Lets hope that will do it.
Put the JP1 remote in learning mode, then when the red LED starts flashing rapidly, start pressing (and holding) the OEM remote button. As soon as you start pressing the OEM button, the red LED will stop flashing, but you should keep pressing until the LED flashes twice.
As for the URC-6131 problem, I would suggest that you post your IR file (if you've added any upgrades, etc).

Thanks Robman.
I think that the prior issue was worn down batteries. But cant be sure b/c now I am unable to get the 6131's JP1 to connect to IR. Not sure why-was working before, and I confirmed cable is good b/c can use on the 8910. I did a few resets (981) on the 6131, but this should not mess up the JP1, I believe. Probably something obvious, but I am missing it.

If yoou are trying it with the batteries in the remote, try taking them out. (and vice versa)

What error message(s) are you getting from IR?sabre wrote:I am unable to get the 6131's JP1 to connect to IR
That sounds like it could be a problem with the EEPROM. The 2 flashes indicate that the processor is being reset. When the EEPROM is successfully read, there should be a second set of 2 quick flashes as well. If you added the EEPROM yourself, I'd suggest opening the remote and checking the solder connections.the remote lights once, and then 2 quick flashes
