Device Selection with 8811 Extender

Post by velocity »

I am using the 8811 extender and most everthing works. I set up the L buttons to switch the TV input and the receiver video inputs and then poinnt to one of several satellite receivers. The receiver and TV switch their inputs but the remote does not remain set up for the satellite receivers. If I push the device selector button (say SAT) than everything works until I select another L key macro.

Each device key is set up with the default macros except for Volume which is set for the receiver. The L key macros end in the right device (SAT, CBL or AUX). What am I missing?

In the L macros are you using the X_ device selection or the regular ones?

You should be using the X_ or you get a false assignment with the regular button names.

I don't quite understand what you want each of those keys (the L keys and the device keys) to do and I really don't understand what you programmed them to do.

For the second question, the easiest way to tell us what you did is to put your .ir file in the diagnosis folder and post its URL back here.

Device Selection

Sorry I found the problem. I changed the device assignments between the two remotes that I'm working on but I forgot to change the macros. I swapped it around and it's working perfectly. Thanks.
