Just when I thought I figured it out.....help!

Post by captainvid »

Here is my situation. I have a Sony STR-DE930 receiver in which I can control from my URC8910. I particular the 1-9 keys can select the various input sources on the receiver. Now I want to do the same with my Replaytv remote (old version). I have assigned the TV button to use the code 1589 that uses the following programming:
CA 0D 78 8E 81 08 09 40 48 C8 28 88 08 A8 15 30 AF 2F 4F CF
The problem is the 1-9 keys still operate the Replay and not the Sony source inputs. Volume, Mute, and power are the only function I have control of. Does anyone have the mapping for controlling more of the Sonys functions?

I think I know what you mean, but could you be more specific. Are you referring to the four device remote pictured here?

Okay, this also needs clarification. Is this the code for the 8910. Did you just paste this code into your ReplayTV remote? If you did you need to go back to KM or RM (whichever you used to generate this code) and change the remote type to ReplayTV. (assuming you have the remote above).

It would be a good idea to post the device upgrade (the KM or RM file) plus the contents of the ReplayTV remote's image (File, Save in IR.exe).

Yes that is the replay remote. The code that I posted is pasted into the replay but was not copied from the 8910. I just started to use the RM program but it makes no sense to me yet. The code was copied from KM awhile back but now I cannot seem to duplicate it. Any Ideas?

When you say you can't "duplicate" the code, do you mean that you can't get KM to produce the same device code (the string of hex numbers) or you can't get it to produce any code?

If you have a KM file that you are having trouble with, post it to the diagnosis area and someone will take a look at it. If you can't find the original KM file, then you are better off starting at the begining (check out the Code Search group and the top posting there).

Well I have been able to program the 0-9 keys to select the inputs ok. The only commands I cannot control is the Channel up/down functions for the tuner's preset stations. My 8910 controls them ok but I cant figure out what codes to insert into the key moves.
here are the codes for the buttons so far
button EFC
1---------238
2---------209
3---------033
4---------236
5---------240
6---------032
7---------128
8---------242
9---------032
0---------239
input-----002 >for dimmer

Somewhere out there these numbers make sense. I sure would like to know the rest of them for the other controls that the original sony remote can control. Any ideas?

Take a look at this upgrade file. If I remember right it has all control known to man in it for your sony.

Also it appears (if not a typo) you have video 3 input on both button 6 and 9.
