6012 Extender and Backlight in URC8811

I've installed the 6012 Extender on my 8811 and I've noticed that when I activate the backlight button it turns it on, with the backlight still on, I press any key and and while the key is pressed the backlight turns off, and when I release this key, the backlight turns on again. Is this normal?
BTW, how can I find which release of extender I'm using? At the top of IR it says: File Name.ir - Extender 3 2K URC 6011, 6012 8011 8811

That behavior is similar to what unextended remote does. Use extender 2 if you don't like it.

In unextended state, my 6011 turns the light off while pressing a button. I didn't know/think there's a difference between 601x and 881x...

At the top of IR it says: File Name.ir - Extender 3 2K URC 6011, 6012 8011 8811

This means you are using extender 3.
