Making DecodeCCF and Other Decoding Tools Easier to Find

Post by jon_armstrong »

I couldn't find DecodeCCF in the JP1 files although it is in the JP1-KM files section and ccf2efc, cml2efc and IRTools are in JP1|files|programs and DecodeIR.dll and IR.exe are in JP1|files|tools.

My suggestion would be to put all programs that use DecodeIR.dll in the JP1|files|tools directory. I would have posted the DecodeCCF file in the JP1 group but it has the source included and since John Fine wrote it that seemed a bit presumptuous :) .

Also, come to think of it, John you mentioned recently that you had a fixed version of IRTools that you never posted. So if John and Rob agree, could someone post those two files in JP1|files|tools directory along with moving ccf2efc and cml2efc.

That way someone who wants these files need only join one group and go to one directory for all the decoding tools and related files.

My goal is to keep the Tools folder as uncluttered as possible so newbies are not overwhelmed by it. This folder is really only intended for IR and KM. I would not therefore be in favor of moving a bunch more programs there.

However, I do think that it would be a good idea to keep all the remaining programs in one place, so DecodeCCF really should be in the JP1 Programs folder.
