There is so much internet chatter about this firedtv, that I'm surprised that there isn't some recording of the signals they are using. You might want to try the manufacturer, or the manufacturer's forum. A pronto file, or a lirc.conf might be enough.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I've found a forum for the FireDTV here:
http://forum.digital-everywhere.com/

I've attempted to sign up to ask about CCF files, but am still awaiting the automated activation email.

I found someone having trouble with their firedtv here
http://old.nabble.com/remote-control-wo ... 67916.html

In that link, they have a lirc file, that might be helpful to a true expert.

Update, I got into the forum and posted a message, but it's 99% spam, so I'm guessing that nobody uses the forum anymore.

Thanks for the LIRC link Vicky:
http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/dev ... f.devinput

I don't know how to read this data though because it shows the ONE and ZERO times as zero. Does anyone else know how to read this:

Code: Select all

begin remote

  name devinput
  bits 16
  eps 30
  aeps 100

  one 0 0
  zero 0 0
  pre_data_bits 16
  pre_data 0x1
  post_data_bits 32
  post_data 0x1
  gap 132799
  toggle_bit_mask 0x0

Wow, So that's what happens to a forum if the spammers are let to run wild. Thousands of nonsensical posts.

Hi,

I found a pdf which contains the OBC codes (in hex) for all buttons of the remote, but unfortunatly no information about the protocol.

So I bought the cheapest Logitech Harmony (which I will probably return) as they claim to have the FireDTV remote in their repository. Turns out they really have, so I could learn some codes from the Harmony to get the protocol (NEC1, device number 3).

The RM file I've created is now available from the files section:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9105

Ciao,
Steffen

PS: Here is the link to the pdf:

A good picture of the remote to get the name of all keys can be found here:

Congrats figuring out the protocol and device code.

I'd like to look at the PDF but I get the msg "You do not have permission to view this attachment. " when I try to look at it, so if you've already downloaded it, could you post a copy here please.

Thanks, I can see how the PDF matches up to the RMDU that you created, and I think it also confirms that the LIRC file that Vicky found earlier is not a match, even though I still don't know how to properly read that particular LIRC file.
