TCL L32HDF11TA 32 inch LCD remote code

Post by egadget1 »

Hi,
Bought this TV from amazon. I learned the ON/OFF signal with a radio shack 15-2104 remote.

Here is what it came up with
protocol RCA-38
Device 15
OBC 42
Hex Cmd 2A
EFC 099
Can anyone suggest what RCA TV this might be compatible with.
Thanks

Here is the post where we first saw this RCA-38 variation of the RCA protococol.

It appears that the PID for RCA-38 is $0091. This hasn't been documented before, so it's not in any of our tools yet, but it's formatted the same way that RCA is formatted.

Here's the protocol code:

Upgrade protocol 0 = 00 91 (S3C8+) PB v4.02
3D 91 11 8B 12 95 45 04 08 00 FA 03 D4 00 FA 01
E0 11 80 07 D0 07 BC 0C D5 CF 11 C0 00 C0 11 C0
8D 01 46
End

End
Oh RM uses 01AF for RCA-38

That's almost certainly a home-made protocol, and the $01AF PID pretty much confirms it (as it's based on $00AF), but $0091 is the official UEI protocol for it.

Of course, it would have been a much better idea to use one of the spare bits in the fixed data as a switch and then have some logic to change the freq.

egadget1, do you need an upgrade for this?

Hi Robman,

That would be great if you can make a upgrade. Do you need me to capture the rest of the keys on the remote? Is there away to find the discrete on and discrete off codes?
Thanks

OK, here goes, this is just a general RCA TV upgrade with the protocol changed to the 38kHz version:

Of course, you can fine tune it by learning buttons and then entering the correct OBC or EFC codes.

Hi Robman,

Just downloaded them to my remote. All functions work great. The orignal remote did not come with discrete inputs buttons. Any ideas how I might find them? Also the discrete on/off functions? I will try the RCA ones.

Thanks again. :D

Looks like the RCA discrete ON/OFF work.
RCA Discrete ON is EFC 227
RCA Discrete OFF is EFC 219

I just replaced the file with a combo version that includes discrete power and input codes.

Download the upgrade and update any functions that have the wrong EFC (or OBC). Also, delete any functions that don't work, then post a new copy of the file.

[EDIT]Here is egadget1's file:
