Generating bin file with xml file from red rat

Post by manujimenez »

Hello,

I have xml file generated with SignalDB utility and Red Rat.

Is it possible that someone explains how to use this information to obtain and input proper parameters into RemoteMaster application to generate bin file for slingbox.

Thanks in advance.

This is the link to the XML file:

The thread talks about the Red Rat Format.

Do you actually mean SmarDTV ? Not that it matters as neither of them are recognised manufacturers in the Logitech Harmony IR Database so I can't find the codes. Sorry

Not sure why you sent me 3 PMs instead of posting here, but there is something wrong with the forum that is preventing me to reply. This is what I tried to send:

The way I operate is to install a device onto my Logitech Harmony IR Remote and then use that to 'mimic' the original remote and analyse the codes. If the device has not made it onto the database then there is nothing I can do. The only options are for you to get hold of a Harmony remote or send me the original remote (or buy an IR Widget and do it yourself)

It seems that the other people using this red rat have been able to post a graphical interpretation of a signal, are you able to do that?

I don't have time to work on this, but this IR protocol is NEC1 128.221. The digit OBCs are the same as the digit, e.g. digit 5 has OBC 5.

Ajustes is OBC 37
and Down is 20.

That's great, thanks. I can take it from here.

manujimenez: Now we have the basic details of the protocol and device, we are left with the fact that there are only 255 possible codes for each button, so we can figure them all out quite quickly. At

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13366

I have uploaded a Custom Remote (& instructions), where we can look at the first 53 codes and see what they do (Hopefully the number buttons will work normally, the other buttons could do anything.

So install the remote and then tap on EVERY button (including the 15 Custom buttons you get when right-click on the image) and tell me what they do. Make sure you try it in all the TV modes (normal, menu, guide..) where the buttons are relevant (i.e, may not be any use looking for the colour buttons on a normal screen, you may need to be in the Guide screen).

Let me know the results.

Thanks everyone for your help on this topic, specially to Al who spent his time generating binaries

Sorry by not replying in the forum, i was paying attention to the private messages and lost track into it.

I have checked all the keys and they work perfectly!

Binaries generated by Alan for this RCU are here:
