Remote Code for HAIER TV

Post by djtoppsr »

I have a new Haier 20" TV (cheapy, but nice). I have the orginal remote but would like to put it on my Radio Shack 1994 remote. I can't find a code and I've exhausted the manual program for it. Anyone found a code that will operate this? Thanks.

Do not have a learning remote. But I do still have the original remote, but i guess that doesn't matter since i don't have a learning remote.

i need the code in order to turn the TV on. The remote I am using does not have the learning feature. Does anyone know any haier codes other than 388? thank you very much.

P.S. I to have the Haier 20". Does anyone know if this is just a rebadged tv? If so, who was the original manufactorer? thanks again

Please read the thread linked to above.

Q1. Are you a JP1 user?
Q2. What model of remote are you trying to program?
Q3. What is the "388" code that you mention?

Where did you get the information that it might be setup code 388?

Since the 15-1994 is a learning remote, I guess you have a different model OFA than djtoppsr has. What model do you have?

The urc-7541 is a nonlearning remote that includes TV/0388. Most OFA remotes don't include it. So for most models of OFA remote I expect you couldn't have tested TV/0388.

If you have a model lacking TV/0388 and a JP1 cable and some good reason to think TV/0388 may be correct, we could get an upgrade for you.

But if you have the 7541, I'm not sure what to try.

i'm sorry, i should have said what remote I am using. its an AT&T 200C remote that comes with comcast cable. I do have a 15-2117 remote from radioshack but i didn't want to use it on this television. It didn't have the code for it either anyway. I found the 0388 code on the internet when searching for haier codes.

I re-direct your attention to Rob's earlier post:

If you are, you have everything you need.

Even if you are "reserving" the 2117 for something else, that's fine. You can still use it to learn and analyze the OEM remote signals with JP1.

(1) Download your current 2117 configuration via JP1 and save the file;
(2) Use the 2117 to learn a few keys from the remote you're trying to replicate;
(3) Analyze the learned functions by downloading THAT configuration from the 2117;
(4) Using the JP1 tools (follwing the read-me's) build your upgrade in KM or RM, and load it into IR and upload it to your AT&T 200C remote;
(4a) Prior to this point you may need to separately download your AT&T 200C remote to IR so that one of the experts can create an RDF for you, since I don't know if one happens to exist right now;
(5) Upload your original 2117 configuration back into the 2117 from the file saved in step (1).
