Using custommodename, how can I keep the device from showing

Post by alank2 »

Hi,

When I use custommodename (2116 ex 3), it will display "TIVO" on the display. But if I press a key, it shows the device/number for it, such as MISC 0123. Is there a way to supress this? I just want it to say "TIVO" all the time even if I press a key...

Thanks,

Alan

I doubt there is a way to suppress this.

btw,

Who actually looks at the little LCD screen while it's transmitting? I watch the TV/Receiver/whatever to see if the response expected!

It's something you look at all the time when first programming the
custom device name, but after a week of real usage, the habit goes
away.
