Fried another 8910

Hi, I hooked up my 8910 to my homemade JP1 cable, and it seems that I fried it again-this happened once before. The unit had been working fine with about 20 prior JP1 hookups and programming. What happens is that the backlight stays on all the time at about 1/2 level, and most of the functionanlity of the remote is gone. So, has anyone come across this before (other than myself), and if so is there a fix. Would it be possible that the unit would just need a new EEPROM, or could it be some other fried electronics? Try a full MFR RESET and see if that fixes it. To do a full reset, activate the onscreen menu then press RECORD, then follow the prompts.
