I can't download 7800ex2.zip file from yahoo When I right-click on the file and ask to saveAs, the screen says something about cannot download and cannot open this internet site. This was the path: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... 800ex2.zip I have no problem downloading/uploading upgrade files from yahoo.
I can't find it in Rob's files section either.
When and if I get it: considering the file date is I think 2002, should I assume the installation instructions (likely to be in the zip file) still apply? Or has IR changed enough that there might be a simpler procedure than what I went through with 8910. Any make-it-easier to install pointers would be most welcome.
To check, after failing to get the file I downloaded some old upgrade and it worked so they're not having a bad day, but looks like I have no rights -- when I just cliked on the link I posted above (different entry than earlier), IE said I have no rights Thanks for your trial, Nils. Looks like it takes some priviledges which you have. Suggestions?
If you are a member of the JP1 Yahoo Group, you should be able to download any file in the entire file area there. It may ask you to login first, which is why you really should not right-click and "Save as..." a file at yahoo, you never know when validation will fail and all you download is the screen that asks you to login or re-enter your password or something.
The way I normally do it is login to yahoo jp1 group, select directory/section, select a file, right click and saveAs. No big deal.
It normally works. This evening device upgrade files work, extenders don't. But it worked for Nils. I'll try tomorrow again.
I'm not sure how else to do it. not saveAS ??
I just tried it myself, just by clicking on the link above and then logging in when it asked. It worked fine for me and I don't have any special athority at all.
I have just created a bunch of new folders over in the new file section, including one for extenders. Hopefully people will copy files over as needed, but I have started the process by copying the URC-7800 extender files over.
Got it. Many thanks, Rob. Now the fun begins
BTW this is not the only file i had trouble with over at yahoo, today there were few others and they were not all zip files either. Also from the office I could not get at it.
