Post by BigDLondon »

I've got a RS 2104 remote and tried to figure out how to to activate the
extender and I'm not getting the 4 blinks off the remote. Is there a readme

The readme should have been included in the download. The installation and activation instructions are in the file named Install.txt.

To activate the extender, you press the Power button in TV mode.

If you're doing this and the extender is still not being activated, most likely there's an error in the data uploaded to the remote. Make sure to read and follow the installation instructions. You cannot simply do a File, New... in IR and select the 2104 Extender RDF.

Remember that you need to activate the extender EVERY time the remote is reset. This happens with every up/download in IR, and whenever battery power is interupted. If it appears the the extender is not functioning, press TV and then Power.

I've also found that the 2104 (at least mine) can eat batteries when the backlight is used. Of course, the fact that my wife has to scroll through the cable guide dozens of times a night doesn't help! ;)

Many times my 2104 just resets itself and the extender stops functioning. This is my clue that it's time to change that batteries.
