I was wondering what a good way to increase the repeat rate would be.
I am setting up a HTPC and have a HTPro remote and winlirc/autohotkey on the computer. I have been setting up various various actions like play, stop, etc. with no problem.
I would also would like to be able to control the mouse with the remote if necessary. However the repeat rate of the signal sent is relatively slow, so I either have to wait a long time for the mouse to move enough, or move it by larger increments which sometimes makes me unable to move to the correct location.
The computer doesn't require any particular protocol or anything so I can set the remote up however is most convenient. Is there a good way to get the remote to increase the rate at which it is repeating a signal?

The only variable that you have any control over is the "lead out" time, the shorter you make it the faster the signal will repeat.

So it sounds like I would need to create a new protocol. It looks fairly easy to to with protocol builder, but I don't have Excel, and it doesn't seem to work with Open Office.
Is there an easy way to do that without Excel. If there are particular bytes that need to be modified I can do that if I know which they are.
Thanks, for the help by the way.

The only tool we have is PB which requires Excel. For this level of JP1, you really need to get Excel so you can use PB.
