I bought a "Nexus" remote on ebay that is backlit. I found it on amazon, and it looks identical to mine. Might be worth the $10 dice roll?

Okay, it looks like my EEPROM is good.
I thought I had gotten the six pin soldered correctly, but now my symptoms are the same as in this thread. I guess I'll be popping open the remote to double check soldering for hershey's kisses.

I've oriented it with the dimple in the same place as it is shown in this post. Is there a way I can check to make sure the EEPROM is positioned correctly, besides using a JP1 cable?
