Need help with RCRP05B
Several years ago I bought two RCA RCRP05B remotes to control an LG tv, Dish sat, Marantz avr, and Sony DVD. Luckily everything worked fine using the remote codes (user manual) and then using RMIR for some macros. Except for some contact cleaning the control currently works very well.
The second remote was kept as a backup until I decided to program it for a friend. The first thing I did was reset 980/981 and try to set up an RCA RT4038 TV using the codes in the remote manual, none of them worked, I also had no luck with the code search function from the remote manual.
I look forward to any suggestions, thanks

Re: Need help with RCRP058
Do you mean RCRP05B? If so, that's a pretty common remote, with learning. I have two of them myself.fredo55 wrote:Several years ago I bought two RCA rcrp058 remotes
In RMIR, download from the remote, then go to the Devices tab, click new, then Open the file below, map any missing functions as desired on the Buttons tab, then click Ok, and assign to the TV device. Also in Other Settings on the General tab of RMIR, set all vol and chan dev to the TV device, turn off all setup code locks, and set everything else to NO (probably already the default setting). Then save and upload to the remote.

If you're logged in, you'll see a DOWNLOAD button at the bottom left of the page.fredo55 wrote:that link send me to a file section without a Download optionmdavej wrote:In RMIR, download from the remote, then go to the Devices tab, click new, then Open the file below, map any missing functions as desired on the Buttons tab, then click Ok, and assign to the TV device. Should have worked. Make sure punch through is set to TV and cable lock is off. These also have to be set correctly for the RMDU to work.fredo55 wrote:Code 2256 worked to turn on/off the TV only, none of the other buttons are working
