ok, so i went through all of the codes, and i got most of them with RC-5 protocol. There is one big one i could not find -- the select button. Rob, most of the codes were different than the ones you had for 0054, but a few were the same. I also did not find any discrete codes, although it seems the ...

Thanks for the prompt replies. I did start to use some dummy codes, but only did the 20s, and no luck yet. Will start a fuller test soon. Was concerned it may be some other type than RC-5, as Vicky infers. Will let you know how it goes.

Fried another 8910

Hi, I hooked up my 8910 to my homemade JP1 cable, and it seems that I fried it again-this happened once before. The unit had been working fine with about 20 prior JP1 hookups and programming. What happens is that the backlight stays on all the time at about 1/2 level, and most of the functionanlity ...

Thanks again guys. I opened it up, and turns out that one of the pins on the JP1 were loose. Resoldered, and worked but still pretty sensitive. This whole thing could be a text book case on things to look out for.

Thanks Robman.

I think that the prior issue was worn down batteries. But cant be sure b/c now I am unable to get the 6131's JP1 to connect to IR. Not sure why-was working before, and I confirmed cable is good b/c can use on the 8910. I did a few resets (981) on the 6131, but this should not mess up ...

ok, the code does seem to work, but it appears the real issue has to do w/ my 6131, which I put in the eeprom and jp1-no issues and all checks cleared.

Here it is: it seems after I hit the TV button and then say power, which would work, after i hit the next button, the remote lights once, and then ...

jon, you are a genius or i am a fool. I was pressing both buttons at the same time while learning, while only supposed to hit the OEM. Thanks a bunch. Lets hope that will do it.

Hey, thanks jon.

Here it is. Let me know if you would like additional info. I do not have all the codes here b/c of limit on memory for the 8910. This is the IR file.

Upgrade from learning when no device or EFC code present

Hi,

I learned the keys from a remote for an APEX GT-2015 TV, and downloaded to IR (the current file does not work for my TV). When I look at the keys in learned section of IR, there is not device #, or EFC etc, and just a bunch of #s under the "sent once when key is pressed:--there are several 3 ...

I have the GT2015, however, i tried the code on mine and it did not work. i noticed when learning the keys, such as power, that it does not give device number or EFC number.
i was how wondering you got those codes for the TV?

8910 Backlight stays on

Hi,

I have been using the 8910 for a few weeks and all was fine. Today i went and tinkered with an upgrade and uploaded it to the remote. After that, the backlight now stays on (and i have the light turned off). It is about 1/2 the level of the real backlight, but unacceptable nonetheless ...
